Here is the view from our hotel room balcony.
It was a great time to go because the hotel (and island) wasn't packed since the peak season had just ended. It made for a nice, relaxing trip since we didn't have to rush to get lounge chairs at the pool or at the beach.
The resort had a water slide that Amit and I enjoyed going down quite a few times!
I have a good friend, Jen, who I have known since I was 11 years old, that moved out to Maui when I moved to California. Jen and I grew up and went to college together. It had been 10 years since we had seen each other, but we made plans to meet up while we were there. It was so great to see her and it felt like no time had passed.Since we had Anaiya with us, we were limited on the type of excursions we could do. But I asked Jen if there were some easy hikes we could do to see some waterfalls. I wrapped Anaiya in my sling and we were off hiking to Twin Falls.
Apparently, we wore Anaiya out from the hike and watching the local boys jumping off the cliffs into the waterfall because she fell asleep on the way back down.
Jen also took us on a drive to the West Maui Mountains. It was an absolutely beautiful drive. She took us to some hidden pockets that tourists wouldn't necessarily know about. Since we had to climb over these huge boulder rocks, I strapped Anaiya again to me and we were off on another adventure.
While we were in Maui, we got to go to some great restaurants like Mama's Fish House. It's right on the water so we managed to get some great pictures while the sun was setting.
