What a month it's been! Up until now, Anaiya has been a very easy going baby. She still is, however, we've noticed in the past few weeks, she has definitely changed in some ways: she's gotten attached to me (due to separation anxiety), she has a stranger anxiety (not always, but she isn't willing to be held just by anybody like she used to), and teething (nothing has broken through yet unfortunately).
On the bright side, Anaiya is still learning new things so quickly. We've been working with her over the past few weeks to transition her from the bottle to the sippy cup. I'm glad to say as of last week, we've officially dropped the bottle all together. Anaiya drinks her milk and water straight from her sippy cup. She's also become a pro at drinking from a straw. She started clapping her hands a couple of weeks ago. If you say, "Yea Anaiya!!", she'll stop whatever she's doing and start clapping her hands. It's one of the cutest things ever. Anaiya is also walking while holding onto anything she can and she's letting go and trying to stand on her own but she only lasts about 5 seconds before she falls down. She'll also lean in to you because she wants a kiss but she'll also give you an open mouth kiss if you're not looking!
We also just had her 9 month doctor's appointment today. Anaiya now weighs 16 pounds, 5 ounces (10% percentile) and is 28 inches tall (64% percentile). The doctor says she's doing great and not to be concerned about her weight. She's just our typical Indian pint-size baby. It is funny to see babies that are much younger than her, but twice her size. This reminds me of the blog posts that Lina and Ryan would write about when talking about my niece, Himani when she was baby!
Can't believe how big she is! So awesome you got her off of the bottle so fast. We were just shy of Himani's 1st birthday when we were off bottles completely!!
