During Super Bowl weekend (in February for those of you who don't follow sports), Maliya had her 5 month old pictures taken at the kiddie photo studio. She did amazing as usual. Every month, more and more of her bubbly personality comes out. She's just so smiley that these photo sessions go pretty smoothly.
An update on Maliya at 5 months were: she started sleeping on her belly, her pacifier was taken away permanently, she learned to sit up, and she started eating solids. I thought taking the pacifier was going to be a lot harder, but after the 1st week without it, Maliya pretty much forgot about it. I was initially hoping she would just drop it on her own because Anaiya did about this age, but after one weekend of seeing how Maliya was waking up in the middle of the night wanting her pacifier, it made me want to get rid of it before it became a hard habit for me to break all together.
Since Maliya turned 4 months old, I noticed she started watching us especially Anaiya eat. So once I took away the pacifier, I decided to start introducing solids thinking it would help her sleep if her belly was a little more full. I started with oatmeal and quickly moved on to the vegetables. At 5 months, I introduced butternut squash, carrots, peas, green beans, and sweet potatoes to her. She loved all of them (maybe not the green beans as much, but she still at them).
