Maliya - 10 Months

Maliya is now 10.5 months old.  She weights 16 lbs and is around 29 inches tall.  She still has no teeth and she's not walking by herself yet.  She's definitely teething right now so I feel like we're close to seeing a tooth come through, but I could be wrong. Anaiya was about this age when her first tooth broke through so I'm also using that as a measuring stick.

Maliya is constantly changing on a daily basis it seems like.  She is slowly starting to crawl around the house without needing me or Amit right next to her.  It just depends on what kind of mood she is in.  She normally likes one of us in the room with her otherwise, she gets scared of being alone and starts crying.  She started clapping her hands and waving hi and bye.  If I tell her that I'm calling Amit on the phone, she will look at the phone and say "Ha Da" which I think is pretty cute.  I've also been taking to her to the pool and she absolutely loves being in the water.  I'm doing a lot of the skills that Amit and I did with Anaiya when we first started swimming lessons at the swim school in Irvine.  I just wanted to get Maliya comfortable in the water before we went on our European vacation, so we probably won't start her swim lessons until this winter.  She already doesn't mind going under water or sitting on the edge of the pool and jumping in.  She hates swimming on her back, but I'm still working on that with her.  But not bad for a 10 month old!
