Anaiya had her 2-week doctor’s appointment today; she is doing great. Her weight has increased from 6 lbs 12 oz. at birth to 7 lbs 14 oz. And she has grown an inch to 20.75 inches. Everything seems to be going well, except she is having some gas issues (it’s good to see that Anaiya has at least one of Amit’s Bapa’s traits).
Every day is different. One night Anaiya will wake up every four hours for a quick feed; another night she’ll wake up every 1.5 hours for a feeding and then cry for 30 minutes as she tries to pass her gas. Last night was our best night to date, so hopefully that will continue. So far, parenthood seems to be a game of adjustments. Luckily we have both done yoga and are flexible enough to adapt.
One key adjustment is taking advantage of the time when Anaiya is sleeping, which is the majority of the time. We either take turns sleeping to catch-up from the night before or, as you can see in the pics below, we are keeping up with the Kardashians on our ipad or pda:
